I was recently in Kansas City on business, found your review and gave Raglan a try. I’m a Shepard’s pie fanatic so had to have it with a pint of the dark stuff. Loved it and will definitely go back next trip. Cheers!

For all of you looking who have read the recent posts, I’d like to give you some hope. I’ve been to Ireland for 5 weeks and have seen the whole of the small island- including the Aran islands and I must say that my experience at Raglan was fantastic!!! It was true Irish fare and I had the kindest service! The green mystery sauce is a mint sauce, by the way, and if your not cultured in the Irish, then perhaps some of the dishes could seem somewhat different. But if you love trying new things and have a diverse pallet then you’re certain to love it. As for the price, I’m not surprised, all things considered. Its definitely the place to go for a special evening of awesome food, service and entertainment! The place is awe-inspiring in its beauty, and when I’m at Raglan I’m back in Ireland–which is precisely where I want to be! Cheers to Raglan!

Save yourself from a bad memory! I recently went to Raglan and ordered the fish and chips. The fish was mushy at best with a batter that reminded me of fair-ground funnel cakes. The fries made an equally poor showing. The fries were raw in the center, with a tough exterior and were cold to boot. Come on- it’s fish and chips how hard is that!?Adding to this experience was a horrible waiter who ignored us the entire time. Well, that’s not really fair, he did stop by occasionally to give us a heaping helping of his sarcasm. For instance, when I asked what a mystery green liquid presented in a shot glass along with the rest of my meal was he simply replied, “it’s a surprise” and walked away. I fairly certain it was pea soup, but didn’t have the guts to try it. The only redeeming quality was the building itself which was beautiful.
Long story short, if you’re looking for good Irish food visit O’Neil’s off 95th and Mission.

Being a true Irishman, wife and I took my parents to see Celtic Thunder at Sprint Center. We thought, how appropriate to begin the eve. with cocktails, dinneer and music! What a disappointment-told it would be a 20 min. wait(1hr), “enjoy the open bar”(no seats!) place was nowhere near busy!Had an appetizer they sold as “Scallops” do not know what I ingested! $16 for fish & chips that would fit in a McD’s med. drink cup, including the soggy fries! Never again, beautiful decor, terrble food, drink prices and service below par.

Had an amazing lunch there. Started off with potato and scallion soup, and then had the Shepherd’s Pie, which was delicious…if you like Shepherd’s Pie. Everything was just right, from the presentation on down. Glad my first experience was so good. I’m definitely going back.

Went there 6/13. Bad luck I guess. Air was out. Nothing sounded good on the limited Irish menu. My bf ordered a double crown and coke. It was quite strong almost too strong. Got the bill- $16.00!!!!!! for a like 4 oz glass. Of course drinks like this are not listed on the menu but are you kidding me. It should have been a 8oz glass of just crown for that price. Even at the most upitty resturants in KC I have never heard of such a price. We will not be going back on principal alone.

The worst $40 lunch I ever had, it started of good with a smoked salmon appetizer and then went down hill real fast. Bangers and mash turned out to be roast beef that had been cooking for days that was so dry it was like eating paper, along with some kind of sausage that had also had been cooked way too long and mashed potatoes which were ok. The wife had Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken was also overcooked an also very dry. The romaine lettuce was in big chunks and had to be chopped up a lot to get it down to bite size pieces. In the bottom of the colander in which it was served in were chunks of some kind of dried meat that defies description and had no taste. That is my first and last time at Ragland Road.
